It's great and between no guns and all the closed circuit TV cameras, there is never any crime.

Yes, you don't need a permit, or to pass a class, in order to openly carry a handgun. Any Colorado resident can walk into a gun store, pass a federal background check, and buy a handgun, ammunition and a holster and start walking around with a gun on their hip.
